Antarctic Mystery by Jules Verne

An Antarctic Mystery is Jules Vernes response to Edgar Allan Poes novel The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket.

The story is set in 1839 where a wealthy American Jeorling is now looking for a passage back to the USA from Kerguelen Islands. Underway, they meet a stray iceberg with a sailors dead body on it. A note found from him indicates that he and several others from a ship called Jane had survived the assassination attempt at Tsalal and are still alive.
